Micky Gulch

Isaac Ward

Micky Gulch Projecy Coordinator

In 2007 five private landowners will continue the battle against Leafy spurge and Rush Skeletonweed in the Micky Gulch drainage.  These vertical hills are located east of Cambridge adjacent to the Highland Hills project complimenting a large contiguous block of land.  Landowners in this area are determined to beat these intrusions upon their grazing land and in the spirit of cooperation have blurred the boundaries and will cross into Adams County as infected properties lie on both sides of the county line.  Blurring boundaries is the focus of this grass roots effort with the Adams County Weed Department, Adams CWMA and Friends of the Weiser River Trail assisting with this effort.  The preservation of this rangeland is vital to the existence of the ranchers who rely on these pastures in addition to the wildlife that reside there.

Total acres involved in this project:  3,500

Estimated acres requiring treatment:  minimum of 285
